WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 -- The U.S. Department of Justice issued the following news release on Aug. 30, 2024:
The Justice Department announced today that it will monitor compliance with federal voting rights laws in two cities in Massachusetts for the Sept. 3 primary election. The department will monitor in the Cities of Methuen (in Essex County) and Lowell (in Middlesex County).

BOSTON, Massachusetts, Sept. 1 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts issued the following news release on Aug. 30, 2024:
The president of a now-defunct investment firm targeting retail investors pleaded guilty yesterday to assisting an unregistered broker who sold securities in exchange for an undisclosed commission of approximately 40 percent.
