CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, Aug. 29 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina issued the following news release on Aug. 28, 2024:
Michael Lamar Gaines, 40, of Akron, Ohio, was sentenced today to 20 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for trafficking methamphetamine and illegal possession of a firearm, announced Dena J. King, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.

Ohio U.S. Attorney: Cincinnati Woman Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison for Laundering Money for Online Romance Scammers
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 29 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio issued the following news release:
A Cincinnati woman was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 24 months in prison for laundering money for online romance scammers.
