A Remaining Hurdle Cleared to Return Amtrak Services to the Mississippi Gulf Coast
WASHINGTON, Aug. 6 -- Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Mississippi, issued the following news release:
MISSISSIPPI An agreement has finally been reached to return Amtrak services to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the first time since Hurricane Katrina. Two trains will run roundtrip from New Orleans to Mobile with stops in Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, Biloxi, and Pascagoula.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 7 -- Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Mississippi, issued the following news release:
Last week, the Senate Appropriations Committee concluded its markup of the Defense subcommittee's (SAC-D) Fiscal Year 2025 defense funding bill, which provides funding for the Department of Defense. The bill, when combined with the Military Construction and Energy and Water bills, provides $21 billion for much needed weaponry ammunition, and equipment for our troops.
