Children With Complex Medical Conditions Carry Greater Risk of Neurodevelopmental, Mental Health Diagnoses
ITASCA, Illinois, Aug. 6 (TNSres) -- The American Academy of Pediatrics issued the following news release:
A study, "Neurodevelopmental and Mental Health Conditions in Children with Medical Complexity," found children with complex medical conditions were at three times greater risk of having neurodevelopmental diagnoses and two times greater risk of mental health diagnoses than children without medical complexity.
The study, published in the September 2024 Pediatrics (published online Aug. 5)

Legislature Passes Bill to Ban PFAS in Firefighting Protective Gear
BOSTON, Massachusetts, Aug. 6 -- The Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group issued the following news release on Aug. 5, 2024:
The Massachusetts Legislature passed An Act relative to the reduction of certain toxic chemicals in firefighter personal protective equipment, S.2902 today which if signed by the Governor will phase out the use of toxic PFAS in firefighters protective gear.
