Interior Department Prepares to Nominate U.S. Civil Rights Movement Sites for World Heritage List
WASHINGTON, July 16 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior issued the following news release:
Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland today announced that she has authorized the National Park Service to prepare a potential nomination for 11 U.S. Civil Rights Movement sites in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kansas, Mississippi, Virginia and DC to be added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
