ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico, June 27 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Mexico issued the following news release on June 26, 2024:
A California man was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for attempting to transport over 2 kilograms of heroin by train from Bernalillo County to North Carolina.

USGS Scientists Deploy to New Mexico Fire to Enhance Water Monitoring
WASHINGTON, June 26 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's U.S. Geological Survey issued the following news release:
At the request of the National Weather Service, the USGS team will modify four streamgages to transmit data every 15 minutes instead of hourly. This increased frequency will help improve monitoring of potential debris flows and flooding if rainfall occurs later this week.
