OU Professor Receives Award From United States Department of the Interior
NORMAN, Oklahoma, June 8 -- The University of Oklahoma issued the following news release:
The United States Department of the Interior awarded University of Oklahoma professor Drew Kershen its Citizen's Award for Exceptional Service.
Kershen, the Earl Sneed Centennial Professor of Law Emeritus in the OU College of Law, received this award for his "contributions to public service in support of the Upper Washita and Upper Red River Basin Studies for the Bureau of Reclamation."

University of Oklahoma: Newly Published Study Reveals Effects of Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome on Breast Cancer
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, June 7 (TNSres) -- The University of Oklahoma issued the following news release:
Both obesity and metabolic syndrome - a cluster of conditions like high blood pressure and high blood sugar - increase the risk of breast cancer, but in differing ways for different subtypes of the cancer. A University of Oklahoma researcher helped to lead a national study that produced those results, which may help physicians better care for patients at higher risk for breast cancer.
