BLM Land Acquisition Expands Public Access and Recreation Opportunities Adjacent to Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument
TAOS, New Mexico, June 1 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management issued the following news release on May 30, 2024:
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) today announced the acquisition of approximately 3,700 acres of land adjacent to the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. The BLM acquired the property, located six miles southwest of Taos, from the Trust for Public Land, using funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

DEA and Its Partners Remove More Than 670,000 Pounds of Unused Medications From Communities Nationwide
EL PASO, Texas, May 31 -- The U.S. Justice Department's Drug Enforcement Administration's El Paso Division issued the following news release:
DEA and its local law enforcement partners collected 670,136 pounds of unused medications during the 26th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 27, 2024. The El Paso Division collected 2,086 pounds in West Texas and 4,622 pounds in New Mexico.
