Alabama Community College Conference: Wallace State Softball Wins 4th Straight District Title
HANCEVILLE, Alabama, May 14 -- The Alabama Community College Conference issued the following news release:
Wallace Sate Community College's softball team earned their fourth consecutive conference title on Saturday at the 2024 NJCAA Division l ACCC South District Softball Tournament held at Veterans Park in Alabaster, AL and their 16th title overall.
The team swept the tournament, winning three straight games to claim the title. Pitcher Katie Simon of Athens was named the tournament MVP.

PALO ALTO, California, May 17 -- The Electric Power Research Institute issued the following news release:
EPRI, in collaboration with Southern Company and Storworks, has recently completed testing of a pilot concrete thermal energy storage (CTES) system at Alabama Power's Ernest C. Gaston Electric Generating plant (Gaston) marking the largest such pilot in the world. The technology was developed by Storworks.
