U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina: Alex Murdaugh Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison for Federal Financial Crimes
COLUMBIA, South Carolina, April 2 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina issued the following news release: Richard Alexander "Alex" Murdaugh, 55, of Hampton, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for 22 federal financial crimes, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud; bank fraud; wire fraud; and money laundering.
