Justice Dept.: Minnesota Man Pleads Guilty to Tax Fraud Scheme
WASHINGTON, Jan. 6 -- The U.S. Department of Justice issued the following news release on Jan. 5, 2024: A Minnesota man pleaded guilty today to wire fraud and assisting in the preparation of a false income tax return. According to court documents and statements made in court, from 2012 to 2018, Beau Wesley Gensmer, of Prior Lake, devised a scheme to assist in the preparation of at least 50 false tax returns that claimed fraudulently inflated tax refunds on behalf of unwitting taxpayer clients.  more
