Bellevue Public Schools Taking Flight With $2M Grant
OFFUTT AFB, Nebraska, Nov. 4 -- The U.S. Air Force Offutt Air Force Base (55th Air Wing) issued the following news:
Bellevue Public Schools recently announced they were awarded a $2 million Department of Defense Education Activity competitive grant.
The five-year award will be used for Operation Taking Flight, whose goal will be to increase math proficiency for all students and initiate a new BPS Aviation Academy.

Acting United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced that Jade Wondercheck, 44, of Holdrege, Nebraska, was sentenced October 27, 2023, in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Senior United States District Judge John M. Gerrard sentenced Wondercheck to 140 months' imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system.
