WASHINGTON, Aug. 22 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued the following news release on Aug. 21, 2023: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposes placing three freshwater mussels, the Cumberland moccasinshell, Tennessee clubshell, and Tennessee pigtoe on the federal list of threatened and endangered species.
