CAIR Calls on Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton to Resign for Saying the Enslavement of Black Americans Was a 'Necessary Evil'
WASHINGTON, July 28 -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations issued the following news release:
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, called on Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AK) to resign after attempting to justify the enslavement of Black men, women and children in America by saying that it was a "necessary evil upon which the union was built."
