YORK, United Kingdom, Oct. 17 -- The Joseph Rowntree Foundation issued the following statement by Chief Economist Ashwin Kumar responding to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics:
"As inflation hits a five year high, families affected by the freeze to working-age benefits are under unprecedented pressure. Annual price growth now stands at 3 percent, compared to 0.3 percent when the freeze was brought in in April 2016.
