ATLANTA, Georgia, April 24 -- NetChoice, a coalition of trade associations that says it makes the internet safe for free enterprise and expression, issued the following news release on April 23, 2024:
Today, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed SB 351, which creates a mandated identity verification scheme for social media access. Despite some admirable aspects of this legislation, the problems arise when examining the fine print of this new law, which becomes effective on July 1, 2025.
