WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia issued the following news release:
Gholam "Tony" Kowkabi, 63, and Karen Kowkabi, 64, of Vienna, Va., were sentenced in federal court today to 57 months in prison and 24 months of probation, respectively, for tax offenses relating to their failure to pay more than $1.35 million of taxes arising from their operation of several restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area.
