Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Army Maj. Gen. Daniel B. Allyn has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commanding general, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, Fort Bragg, N.C. Allyn is currently serving as the commanding general, 1st Cavalry Divis . . .
