KINGSTON, R.I., March 9 -- The University of Rhode Island issued the following news release:
Diane Kern, assistant professor in the School of Education at the University of Rhode Island, has been named the state's higher education representative to help guide the development of the national English language arts assessment system.
Kern's work is part of two U.S. Department of Education "Race to the Top" assessment systems.
