PARIS, Jan. 25 -- The Inter-American Development Bank issued the following news release:
Latin American and Caribbean countries have not escaped the global financial crisis, but have weathered the storm more successfully than in past downturns, due to better macroeconomic management, more efficient structural policies, and a vigorous business sector. However, important challenges lie ahead for the region.
