RUTLAND, Vt., Dec. 10 -- Central Vermont Public Service issued the following news release:
Line workers restored service to thousands of customers today, rebuilding major sections of the electrical system in the wake of a storm with winds that topped 90 mph.
As of 5 p.m. 1,500 CVPS customers remained without power. New estimates this afternoon put the total number of CVPS customers affected by yesterday's storm at 19,000.
It was painstaking work today . . .
