TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 22 -- The U.S. Department of Justice's Federal Bureau of Investigation Tampa Field Office issued the following press release:
Six crew members of a narcotics smuggling vessel encountered in the Caribbean earlier this year as part of Operation Panama Express were sentenced earlier this month to terms of imprisonment of eight to 14 years. The crew members smuggled 587 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of more than $17 million.
