PALM BAY, Fla., Aug. 22 -- The St. John's River Water Management District issued the following news release:
Water continues to rise in the headwaters of the St. Johns River as Tropical Storm Fay moves away from Florida.
The Upper St. Johns River Basin Project, which encompasses 200,000 acres in western Brevard and Indian River counties, is working as designed and continues to retain a significant volume of rainfall, runoff and pumped water from surrounding resident . . .
