JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., Aug. 1 -- The Missouri Secretary of State issued the following news release:

Secretary of State Robin Carnahan announced today that a predicted 31 percent of Missouri's registered voters will turn out for the August 5, 2008 primary election. This prediction is a compilation of the local turnout estimates submitted to the Secretary of State's office by the election authorities in each county.
