Schakowsky, Merkley Lead Colleagues to File Court Brief Supporting Landmark Youth Climate Lawsuit
WASHINGTON, March 29 -- Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Illinois, issued the following news release:
Today, U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (IL-09) and U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) led their colleagues in filing a brief with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to support the Juliana v. United States youth plaintiffs. The lawmakers asked the Court to allow the plaintiffs' historic climate lawsuit to proceed to trial.
