This weekend, MAGA extremist Sam Brown doubled down on his extreme anti-abortion agenda - refusing to sign the Nevadans For Reproductive Freedom petition to enshrine abortion rights in the Nevada Constitution and choosing instead to attend another extreme anti-abortion fundraiser in Las Vegas.
Senator Rosen signed the petition on Friday. When KTVN asked Brown if he planned to also sign the petition, Brown refused to respond.
Brown joined fellow anti-choice extremists at a fundraiser for a Crisis PregnancyCenter, extreme organizations that "often oppose abortion across the board, do not provide health care to women seeking an abortion, sometimes promote debunked conspiracy theories that the procedure can contribute to future infertility or breast cancer."
Brown's decade-long, extreme anti-abortion record includes: repeatedly supporting abortion bans with no exceptions for rape or incest like the extreme abortion ban in Texas that was considered one of the "toughest restrictions in the country" andstrongly supporting overturning Roe v. Wade. Brown even declared that his anti-abortion position is "non-negotiable" for him.
Nevada State Democratic Party Spokesperson Katharine Kurz
"Instead of supporting efforts to protect Nevadans' reproductive freedoms, Sam Brown spent the weekend with anti-choice extremists supporting an organization that promotes harmful anti-abortion conspiracy theories. While Jacky Rosen fights to defend women's reproductive freedoms, Brown would be a vote in the Senate for extreme anti-choice policies."

KEY MOMENTS FROM THE INTERVIEW:
* Sheehy retold his lie about how he received his gunshot wound - and still refused to provide his medical records, which would offer the truth about his gunshot wound.
* Sheehy repeatedly attacked the press:
- He claimed that the Montana Free Press and the Daily Beast are "not news organizations."
- He said that only "one media outlet" covered his gunshot wound, despite dozens of outlets reporting on his lies.
- He insisted that the "Montana media [...] turned against us" by covering his taxpayer-funded business's challenges that could create a massive conflict of interest if he is elected.
* When asked about the bipartisan national security bill that Steve Daines supported, Sheehy said "no," and that he did not support the funding package.
- The national security bill provided essential military assistance for Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel.
- Daines said (https://montanademocrats.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1aa7f723f714b48fd09acb25d&id=12c0920046&e=8c47c7bcb4) the bill "provides critical, lethal aid to Israel as they defend themselves from terrorists," while Sheehy said the funding "will end up in the hands of Hamas and Hezbollah."

WASHINGTON, May 1 -- The Green Party of the U.S. issued the following news release:
On Saturday, April 27th, campus police physically repressed and assaulted students and supporters during a peaceful pro-Palestinian demonstration on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Jill Stein, a candidate seeking the 2024 Green Party presidential nomination, was among those assaulted and arrested by police. The Green Party is outraged by the violence perpetrated on students and others exercising their First Amendment rights.
Gloria Mattera, co-chair of the Media Committee of the Green Party, said, "The Green Party is appalled at the level of brutality that campus administrators and local police have employed in breaking up peaceful protests by students exercising their First Amendment Rights to protest what they view as genocide by Israel in Gaza. We see yet again that free speech rights are perfectly okay in America, until someone advocates a position that runs afoul of the agenda of the two parties of war and Wall Street. When that happens, the state will respond with illegal violence and unconstitutional repression, and candidates for rival parties will not be spared."
Dr. Stein was in Missouri to collect signatures for her name to be placed on the state's ballot in November. She visited the campus to offer her support to the students and community when she was invited to join the demonstration. A frightening and disturbing video shows Dr. Stein, 73, who had linked arms with other protesters, being assaulted by the police, including one wielding a bicycle against her as a weapon, before she was arrested. Dr. Stein, who has since been released, said in an email to her followers, "We are okay and we are undeterred."
"I was there to support the students and community members who were holding a peaceful, really wonderful, gracious, educational community gathering," Dr. Stein said in a video interview. "The police basically attacked us and assaulted us as well as arrested us... Zionism is something that needs to be debated and anti-Zionism is not the same as anti-Semitism." She has called the crackdown on protesters nationwide a violation of fundamental First Amendment rights. She told an interviewer for a radio station: "This is about freedom of speech, and not just any old freedom of speech, but freedom of speech on a very critical issue that needs debate and dialogue."
Dr. Stein, who is Jewish, has called for an independent investigation into Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his conduct during the six-month assault on Gaza and the West Bank. "The war crimes being perpetrated by Netanyahu against Palestinians... are in a league of their own and have reached genocidal proportions." It has been widely rumored that Prime Minister Netanyahu as well as others in his government may soon be served with arrest warrants by the International Criminal Court in the Hague.
On her campaign website, under the slogan of "People Planet Peace," a statement by Dr. Stein reads, "I'm running for president with the Green Party to offer a choice for the people outside the failed two-party system. We'll put a pro-worker, anti-war, climate action agenda front and center in this election and on the ballot in November." Prof. Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia and President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, is among those who have endorsed Jill Stein for President.
Said Margaret Elisabeth, co-chair of the Green Party of the United States, "It's very convenient that the American mainstream media have made the campus protests, as well as unsupported allegations by bad faith actors of threats to Zionist Jewish students, the big current story, which obscures the real story of war crimes being committed in Gaza, including mass burials. We would like someone in the media to explain to us how the "pain" of Zionists who are having their worldview peacefully challenged by people, including many Jews, who happen to disagree with them is in any way commensurate with the agony and anguish suffered by the people of Gaza and the West Bank during this ongoing genocide."
On its main website, the platform of the Green Party of the United States, under the heading "The Palestinian-Israeli Conflict" reads, "The U.S. Greens recognize and reaffirm the right of self-determination for both Palestinians and Israelis, and their right to live in a single undivided secular and democratic state where all residents have full and equal rights, and freedoms... We call on the U.S. President and Congress to suspend all military and foreign aid, including loans and grants, to Israel until Israel withdraws from the Occupied Territories, dismantles the separation wall in the Occupied West Bank including East Jerusalem, ends its siege of Gaza and dismantles settler colonies and systemic apartheid toward its non-Jewish citizens."

Wade, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is relaunching GOPonAbortion.com, a website highlighting GOP Senate candidates' own words and records opposing women's right to make their own health care decisions.
The site, which was first published in 2022 and re-releasedearlier this year, has been updated to reflect Republican candidates running this cycle and includes additional examples of GOP candidates reaffirming their support for draconian abortion bans in their states -- like Sen. Rick Scott and Kari Lake, doubling-down on their clear records opposing reproductive freedom, and more.
The site also includes an updated video, "In Their Own Words (https://youtu.be/LdM6QTW_31E)."

Watch (https://youtu.be/LdM6QTW_31E) the video featured on the site, "In Their Own Words (https://youtu.be/LdM6QTW_31E)."
From Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Tommy Garcia: "This week's anniversary of the leaked Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade reinforces the stakes of the Senate campaign and the importance of holding Republican Senate candidates accountable for their opposition to a woman's right to make her own health care decisions. On record and on video, GOP candidates have been clear they stand in lockstep with their party's agenda to ban abortion nationwide and without exceptions. This website will help voters see how out of step these GOP candidates are and why they must be defeated in November."

WASHINGTON, May 1 -- The Democratic Governors Association issued the following statement on April 30, 2024:

DGA Chair Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz released the following statement in response to Donald Trump's threats to reproductive freedom in his interview with Time Magazine:
"After overturning Roe v. Wade and paving the way for extreme abortion bans across the country, Donald Trump confirmed that he and Republican governors across the country are just getting started with their attacks on reproductive freedom - from criminalizing women seeking health care to monitoring private medical recordsand restricting the travel of pregnant women.
"Between Trump's threats today and his refusal to oppose a national abortion ban, it's clear that reproductive rights are on the ballot in November. Meanwhile, Democratic governors will continue defending reproductive rights in our states, fighting back against GOP extremists, and making clear why it is so important that we elect more Democratic governors who will protect our fundamental freedoms."
Trump's latest comments come as reproductive freedom promises to be a central issue in governor's races across the country, including North Carolina and New Hampshire, two states where the Republican candidates have well-documented records of staking out extreme and dangerous positions attacking women's rights:
* In North Carolina, Republican nominee Lt. Governor Mark Robinson has said that women who get an abortion are "guilty of murder," and that he would "love to pass a law" that says "you can't have an abortion in North Carolina for any reason."
* In New Hampshire, former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte is doing damage control and lying about her vote to allow health care providers to deny families IVF and fertility care, as she faces scrutiny for pushing for a national abortion ban and serving as a "sherpa" for the extreme SCOTUS majority that overturned Roe v. Wade. Meanwhile, her primary opponent state Senator Chuck Morse "proudly led the charge" on New Hampshire's abortion ban and voted against adding exceptions for rape or incest to the law.
Polling conducted earlier this year found that majorities of voters in both states oppose the overturning of Roe and prefer a governor who supports protecting abortion rights.

Republicans also voted to censure Niki Haley and Mike Pence, despite Haley winning nearly 20% of the vote in the presidential primary. This isn't the first time the AZGOP has voted to censurepoliticians that do not align with the views of Donald Trump and extreme MAGA Republicans; in 2021, they censured Gov. Doug Ducey, former Sen. Jeff Flake, and Cindy McCain, widow of late longtime Sen. John McCain.

* Liz Harris, who was expelled from the Arizona Legislature (https://azdem.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e07abe0b5244496f614006119&id=d073f8a369&e=7144319c50) last year for lying about her role in disinformation given at a legislative hearing, was elected national GOP committeewoman, according to two people who attended and independently confirmed the information.
* The other sitting lawmaker named in the indictment (https://azdem.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e07abe0b5244496f614006119&id=cb7f9a0a7b&e=7144319c50), state Sen. Anthony Kern of Glendale, said at the convention that being indicted by Mayes was a "badge of honor." It's probably gotten him more votes in his run for Arizona's Congressional District 8 seat, he said, adding that Mayes has "overplayed her hand."
* Tyler Bowyer, an indicted fake elector who is the chief operating officer for Trump-promoting group Turning Point Action, and former state Sen. Lori Klein Corbin were previously in the positions. Like Hoffman and Kern, Bowyer falsely asserted he was a "duly elected and qualified" Arizona elector for Trump in 2020. Trump lost the election.
At the last State Convention, the AZGOP was taken over by extremism after Kari Lake blackmailed Jeff Dewitt into resigning, Republicans booed Lake at the convention, and the vote to replace Dewitt took hours due to Republicans' belief in election conspiracy theories. Dewitt was replaced by known election conspiracy theorist Gina Swoboda.
