WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina, Nov. 15 -- The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools issued the following news:
Thanks to a Bright Ideas grant, Kate Clement-Hall's sixth-graders at The Downtown School will be learning about how to produce food in an environmentally friendly way by creating an aquaponics system at the school.
Aquaponics combines conventional aquaculture - raising such aquatic animals as snails, fish, crayfish or prawns in tanks - with hydroponics - cultiva . . .
