SACRAMENTO, California, Feb. 15 -- Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-California, issued the following statement after President Trump declared a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexican border:
"President Trump is manufacturing a crisis and declaring a made-up 'national emergency' in order to seize power and subvert the constitution.
