WASHINGTON, Nov. 16 -- The Antiquities Coalition issued the following news release:

Christie's recent sale of an Assyrian relief that dates back 3,000 years has encouraged significant discussion, and rightfully so. The relief had a pre-sale estimate of $10 million, but it ultimately sold for $31 million, setting the record for the highest price ever paid for Assyrian art.
