15 Years of Government Data Reveals That Jailing Families in Detention Obstructs a Fair Court Process

WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 -- The American Immigration Council issued the following news release:

A new report on family detention released today by the American Immigration Council examines more than 15 years of data on the United States' practice of detaining asylum-seeking families. The report, "Detaining Families: A Study of Asylum Adjudication in Family Detention," concludes that the federal government's decision to detain parents and young children is misguided and detrimen . . .
