WASHINGTON, May 19 -- Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, issued the following statement, which was published in the Congressional Record on May 17, on the nomination of Gina Haspel to be CIA director:
Mr. President, yesterday, the Intelligence Committee took an important step toward confirming Gina Haspel to become the next Director of the CIA. A bipartisan majority voted to report her nomination favorably to the Senate. I look forward to promptly moving to a confirmation vote.
