AMHERST, Mass., March 17 -- The University of Massachusetts's Amherst campus issued the following news:

The award-winning historian and Stanford University professor Allyson Hobbs will visit the University of Massachusetts Amherst history department during the week of March 20 as the UMass/Five College History Graduate Program's 11th annual "Writer-in-Residence."
