NEW YORK, Nov. 19 -- LatinoJustice PRLDEF issued the following news release:
The New York State Clean Slate Act officially went into effect on November 16. The new law, passed in November of 2023, will seal a person's felony records eight years after conviction or release from prison; three years for a misdemeanor.
