CHICAGO, Illinois, Nov. 16 -- Chicago Teachers Union issued the following news release on Nov. 15, 2024:

Today the Chicago Board of Education appointed by Mayor Brandon Johnson took proactive steps in passing two resolutions.

The first reaffirmed the district's values and its welcoming, sanctuary school policies, originally negotiated by CTU in its 2016 and 2019 contract, in anticipation of expected discrimination and division at the federal level under President Trump. . . .
