WASHINGTON, June 14 -- Sen. Peter Welch, D-Vermont, issued the following news release:
This week, U.S. Senators Peter Welch (D-Vt.) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) introduced the Safe and Private Rides Act, legislation which would protect rideshare passengers' privacy by requiring transportation network companies (TNCs) to notify passengers when their driver has a video recording device positioned to record passengers, and give passengers the opportunity to opt out of those rides.
