Former Union President Sentenced to Over 2 Years in Prison for Embezzling Union Funds, Then Doubling Dues to Continue Fraud

LOS ANGELES, California, July 23 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for Central District of California issued the following news release on July 22, 2021:

A former union president was sentenced today to 28 months in federal prison for abusing her leadership position to embezzle union funds - corrupt behavior that depleted the union's bank accounts and led her to double the due paid by union members.
