PORTLAND, Maine, Oct. 14 -- The U.S. Attorney for the District of Maine, Halsey B. Frank, issued the following news release on Oct. 13:

U.S. Attorney Halsey Frank today announced $639,654 in Department of Justice grants to the District of Maine to fund crime laboratories, decrease DNA backlogs, support basic and applied forensic research and help law enforcement identify missing persons.
