WASHINGTON, July 25 -- Rep. Tom O'Halleran, D-Arizona, issued the following news release:
Congressman Tom O'Halleran (AZ-01) joined a group of colleagues to introduce the Stopping COVID Scams Act of 2020: legislation to protect families from COVID-19-related scams and fraud by allowing the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state attorneys general to levy civil penalties against scammers.
Since January of 2020, the FTC has received more than 120,000 consumer complaints . . .
