WASHINGTON, June 17 -- Sen. Susan M. Collins, R-Maine, issued the following news release:
U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King announced that safety net hospitals in Maine have been awarded a total of $52,175,271 to support their efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Safety net hospitals treat a disproportionate number of Medicaid beneficiaries, providing large amounts of uncompensated care, and tend to operate on thin profit margins.
