NEW YORK, May 30 -- The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund issued the following statement by Monique Dixon, director of Policing Reform Campaign:
Former Minneapolis Police Department officer Derek Chauvin, who was filmed driving his knee into George Floyd's neck until he died, was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
