JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri, Feb. 27 -- Missouri Secretary of State Jay R. Ashcroft issued the following news release:
Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft thanked candidates for yesterday's successful start to candidate filing for the August primary election. A total of 349 candidates visited the Secretary of State's office yesterday to ensure their name will be on the Aug. 4 ballot.
