Environmental Defense Fund: Latest EPA Inventory Reinforces Need for Strong Methane Standards

NEW YORK, Feb. 13 -- The Environmental Defense Fund issued the following statement on Feb. 12 by Vice President for Energy Matt Watson:
EPA released the draft of its annual Greenhouse Gas Inventory which includes estimates of methane emissions from natural gas and petroleum systems. While EPA has made some updates to their methodology, the inventory shows oil and gas emissions remain unacceptably high, with virtually no change between 2016 and 2018.
