WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 -- The American Studies Association issued the following joint statement with seven organizations, including the Dance Studies Association, Latin American Studies Association, Middle East Studies Association, Modern Language Association, Shakespeare Association of America, Society of Architectural Historians, and World History Association:
