WASHINGTON, Jan. 15 -- Rep. S. Brett Guthrie, R-Kentucky, issued the following news release on Jan. 14:
Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02), top Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, led a hearing on state-level responses to the ongoing opioid epidemic.
"Our local communities are suffering. On average, 130 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose and opioids were involved in 47,600 overdose deaths . . .
