TIMONIUM, Maryland, Oct. 27 -- Rep. C.A. 'Dutch' Ruppersberger, D-Maryland, issued the following statement after the announced death of ISIS founder and leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in a joint operations mission in northwestern Syria:
"The death of ISIS founder al-Baghdadi is long-awaited and welcome news that makes us all safer. Baghdadi was a ruthless monster who was responsible for the deaths of many innocent civilians, the displacement of millions and the formation of a barb . . .
