WASHINGTON, Oct. 18 -- Rep. Albio Sires, D-New Jersey, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Civilian Security and Trade, issued the following joint statement with Ranking Member Francis Rooney, R-Florida, urging the Bolivian government to respect the will of the people and ensure that the elections in Bolivia on Oct. 20 are free, fair and transparent:
