WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 -- Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, issued the following statement on the election of Miguel Diaz-Canel as President of Cuba:
"Diaz-Canel, Raul Castro's puppet, will continue serving as Cuba's 'oppressor-in-chief'.
"After a sham 'election' last year, Diaz-Canel will continue being the face of an oppressive regime that violates human rights and undermines democratic order in our region. No one should be fooled, Cuba's one-party political system . . .
