WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 -- The Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America issued the following statement by Charles Symington, senior vice president of external, industry and government affairs, on the introduction of the International Insurance Standards Act:
"This important legislation would protect the erosion of our state-based insurance regulatory system by creating important safeguards for federal officials taking part in international insurance negotiations.
