RALEIGH, North Carolina, Sept. 27 -- The North Carolina Department of Public Safety issued the following news release:
The State Highway Patrol is proud to announce majors Jeff Gordon and Donna Carter will begin new roles within the organization on October 7. Due to the retirements of former Deputy Commander Vic Ward and Lt. Colonel Alan Melvin on October 1, the newly appointed members have been selected to fill the high-ranking positions.
