WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 -- Sen. Richard J. Durbin, D-Illinois, issued the following statement calling for Senate action on gun violence:

Last month, 34 homes were sold and closed with prices from $2,800 to $185,000, making the average sale price $84,000, and 84 days on the market was the average and continues to decline as inventory continues to decline.
